About the studio

I'm an abstract painter working from a small studio in Copenhagen. Most of my paintings start with weather: a storm front moving in over the sea, the blue hour over the harbour, the flat grey light of a Danish winter.

I work in layers of oil and acrylic, building colour up and scraping it back until the surface holds both stillness and movement. A painting usually takes several weeks, and many are finished on the studio floor rather than the easel.

I'm not painting the storm. I'm painting the moment just before it breaks.

Visit the studio

The studio is open for visits by appointment. Original works are available directly from the studio, and I take on a small number of commissions each year. Get in touch to arrange a visit.
